Does anyone know the origination of the term "Port" in association to the wine?

JR's Stockyard Inn: OUTSTANDING Prime Rib! Atmosphere is casual with khaki pants for guys preferred. Pricing is spot on! See the linkto the right (picture)...if you're ever here in NOVA and you miss this place you should be shot! The beef is aged for 20 some odd days and combined with it being seasoned to perfection "JR's Way", nothing more can be said except that it simply melts in your mouth.
